Celebrate Valentine’s Day with The Painted Pig

It’s the season of love, and we’re happy to share all the ways you can celebrate with friends and family at The Painted Pig! We have tons of new Valentine’s Day shapes to try and staff available to help you get started. Keep reading for 5 ideas for how to celebrate the holiday with us this year.

1. Capture memories

There isn’t a sweeter way to capture your little one’s tiny hand and footprints than with a custom-painted pottery piece! While we recommend footprints for newborn to 2 years, any age is great for handprints and thumbprints. We have been doing custom pottery since our little studio started, but last year we revamped the process to make it even easier—whether you want to order online or come into the store. To order online, simply choose the design, the size plate or platter, and pick up everything you need to print at home. If you come into the studio, our friendly staff will help paint and press the prints. Either way, you’ll leave the printed piece with us to finish up the custom artwork.

Remember, custom projects take 2-3 weeks to complete the custom painting and firing process—but no matter when you receive your finished piece, you’ll always treasure it!

2. Paint at home

These pottery-to-go kits come with everything you need to bring the fun of paint your own pottery home! Choose between two sizes, starting at $25, to suit your crew: small, which includes a vase and heart-shaped ornament, and large, which includes a vase, heart-shaped magnet, coffee mug, and heart-shaped ring dish. Both sizes come with paint, brushes, and instructions for perfecting your masterpieces—as well as a cookie or two, depending on your box size. We also have a large selection of other Valentine’s projects.

3. Create a holiday door hanger

Spread the love to the outside of your house with a painted door hanger. We have a variety of shapes to suit the holiday, including a vase of flowers, jar with conversation hearts, love letter, and classic heart. Unlike pottery, which requires time for glazing and firing after you paint, door hangers are ready to go home with you the day you paint it. You can also add our curbside door hanger-to-go kit when you order online to paint at home!

4. Make it a date

Snag a reservation with your sweetie and spend some quality time together painting in the studio. Some of our most popular shapes for the holiday include vases (perfect for those Valentine’s Day flowers!), coffee mugs featuring hearts, a “LOVE” marquee light, and ring holders and dishes.

5. Try a new technique

Have you painted pottery before? You might enjoy trying out a new technique! We have lots of ideas, materials, and techniques to help you think outside the paintbrush—and our staff is always happy to help you get started. Splatter paint is an easy way to try a new paint application, and it looks great with a layer of pinks and reds on our heart dishes.

Our hours are 12-6pm Monday through Friday, and 10am to 6pm on Saturdays. You can shop online for pottery to go, call for reservations (501-280-0553), and visit our website for information on how we’re keeping the studio safe during COVID-19.
